South African Tandi Cuningham equalled her career best finish on the Ladies European Tour with a tie for second at the Lalla Meryem Cup in Morocco.
The 25-year-old from Johannesburg fired rounds of 71, 70, 67 and 67 over the par-71 Golf de l’Ocean course in Agadir to end on a 275 total of nine under par, three strokes behind the Australian winner, Karen Lunn.
It was Cuningham’s best finish on the tour since her tie for second at the 2010 Hero Honda Women’s Indian Open, where she lost a play-off to Laura Davies and it could mark a major turnaround in her career.
The chances of seeing the name Bourdy on a leader board in Morocco this week will be higher than normal with European Tour star Grégory Bourdy competing in the Trophée Hassan II just along the road from his sister Mélodie, who is playing for the Lalla Meryem Cup on the Ladies European Tour.
