Kelli Shean ties the knot

KELLI Shean has ditched her part-time caddy. Instead, she’s married him - at a huge wedding celebration in Little Rock, Arkansas on May 18.She will now be known as Kelli Rackley and her new husband/ex-caddy is a tall fellow by the name of Chandler.Golf fans can start looking for her name on pro leaderboards as she turned professional two days after the wedding and is currently campaigning on the LPGA First Stage qualifier.

Now 23, she grew up and learnt her golf in Cape Town. After school she had numerous scholarship opportunities but eventually chose to study human resources and economics at the University of Arkansas.
It was here that she took her golf - and love life - to a new level.
In a business lecture, Kelli sat next to accounting student Chandler.
He was quite taken aback as, at the beginning of the lesson, Kelli was asked to tell the class about herself.
She did, saying, “I am deaf, from South Africa and intend graduating and becoming a professional golfer” before sitting down.
Chandler could not get over this and they became friends. Six months later, Chandler went to study in Italy for six months. When he got back, they realised they were meant for each other.
On Thanksgiving in 2010, he proposed on a golf course - the ring was in the 18th hole and up on the leaderboard was a sign saying ‘Would you marry me?’
Ironically perhaps, Chandler, now a chartered accountant who has a commercial pilot’s licence, doesn’t play golf. But he has caddied for Kelli, and with surprising success, considering how little he knows about the intricacies of the game.
The couple even made headlines when Kelli had Chandler on the bag at the US Women’s Open last year.
However, she now has a professional caddy and the newlyweds can concentrate on their respective businesses of recording the right numbers!
They will return to Cape Town in December to renew their wedding vows with friends and family who could not make the trip to America.
