Lee-Anne hopes to charm in China, again

Lee-Anne Pace Photo by Tristan JonesA RETURN to China will provide Lee-Anne Pace with memories of the two tournaments she won in this country last year. While she may not have repeated the heroics of last season so far she said she was feeling great at the moment.

"I have been playing well all year and almost had two big wins. So I am confident," she said. "I am hitting the ball very well and I seem to have played well on the courses where I have defended my titles."  She is looking forward to playing the courses again, even though they differ from the ones in Europe.  "I like playing in China. Everyone is really nice and so accommodating. The courses are in good condition and suit my game. From past experience it seems like I like coastal courses," she said. China is famous - or perhaps notorious? -  for its cuisine but this hasn't put Lee-Anne. Well, not too much. "I love the beef noodle soup and have it every day but I avoid the sea urchins," she laughed. Off the course she has been to Shanghai to experience more of the culture. "It is, however, a very international city. Very modern and the infrastructure is great."

Golf Club of the Month

The Mossel Bay golf course signature hole is the 17th hole, which is a par 5. At 494m and stroke 2, this can be challenging especially when playing into the sea breeze.
